Oklahoma company earns GM pool designation

OEM Truck Equipment LLC has become the first Oklahoma company to win a General Motors pool award.

Officials said the designation will make it easier for local dealers to get special-order trucks for their customers because they can get those trucks from OEM in Okarche, rather than dealing with an out-of-state vendor.

“It’s going to be huge for the commercial dealers,” OEM President Lisha Oshman said.

The arrangement means GM will ship chassis for Chevrolet and GMC pickups to OEM, which will assemble the requested body configuration for dealers.

“It’s an extension of the dealers’ inventory,” said Curtis Stephenson, OEM’s director of sales.

Stephenson said the arrangement should save dealers and their customers money since they won’t have to go to Texas or other nearby states for custom-equipped trucks.
